What do I need to cross the border?
US. Citizens need only proof of citizenshio, such as U.S. drivers license, copy of their passport, or voter registration (parents traveling with children should have their birth certificates.

Non U.S. Citizens must present a passport and a visa I-94 card or resident alien card. Citizens of countries participating in Visa Waiver Program must still present an unexpired machine-readable passport.
